Tips for Losing Weight
Learn to recognize that "grazing" time of day,
when you'll eat anything and everything
that's just lying around.
Use one of your distractions from the list you made in your journal - drink a glass of water, brush and rinse your teeth or go for a short walk. There's a page in your journal for your distraction list or you can print one out from the web site,

This may give you the 10 or 15 minutes you need to get over the cravings. Drink a large glass of water when you feel hungry to try to make it to your next planned meal or snack. If that doesn't work after 15-20 min, eat a little (< 100 calories) to satisfy the craving.

How to Get the Most Out of Each Tip

  • Print out your new tip each day. Cut around the dotted line and put it where you will see it often throughout the day - on the fridge, on your desk, on your bathroom mirror, etc.
  • Read it. Think about it. Pay attention to which tips motivate you and make you want to do better.
  • Start making a collection of your favorite tips. Keep them handy. (I'm guessing you'll need some of the best ones again sometime.) Which ones to keep?
    • Does it give you hope?
    • Does it sound like a good idea?
    • Did it really ring true the first time or two you read it?
    • Did you think about it often throughout the day?
    • Has it helped you think about losing weight a little differently?
